What is the High-Purity Titanium?

As titanium products are increasingly used in industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, and new energy, the demands on the raw materials for these end products are becoming more stringent. The purity and stability of titanium are critical factors in assessing the quality of titanium raw materials.

1. High-Purity Sponge Titanium:

   • The highest grade standard for sponge titanium in national standards is Grade 0, requiring a titanium purity of 99.8%. Chuangrun New Materials produces high-purity sponge titanium with a purity of up to 99.95%. They use an upgraded Kroll process to further purify raw materials such as titanium tetrachloride, continuously improving the purity of sponge titanium. They also pay close attention to controlling its stability, ensuring that high-purity sponge titanium can be used in the development and production of various products across different fields.

2. Electrolytic Titanium:

   • Sponge titanium is further purified through vacuum molten salt electrolysis equipment developed by Chuangrun New Materials. This process removes impurities that are difficult to eliminate from sponge titanium, resulting in their core product: electrolytic titanium. The purity of electrolytic titanium can reach 99.995%, with an oxygen content of less than 0.01%.
   • To meet the needs of various industries, the form of electrolytic titanium can be customized. The more commonly used form is compressed block electrolytic titanium, which better matches the requirements of alloy addition processes.

3. EB Melted High-Purity Titanium:

   • Among many smelting processes, electron beam melting (EB) stands out for producing titanium with no internal defects and excellent impurity removal. Chuangrun New Materials currently has seven EB furnaces dedicated to producing titanium ingots with a purity of up to 99.9995% and an oxygen content of less than 0.01%. The maximum diameter of these ingots can reach 800mm. Such large-diameter ingots allow for more diverse subsequent deformation processing methods and significantly improve the yield of the processed material.
